Carlo Mollino – artist, designer, architect, photographer, race car driver, engineer. It’s only fitting that a man that wore so many hats – and all of them well – should have an equally interesting apartment: a colourful interior for a colourful character.
Property is a complex beast – no more is it as simple as ‘location, location, locaation’. Of course, location is right up there when buyers are making real estate decisions, as are amenities. But thanks to the proliferation of real estate-related media, including the ubiquitous reality television show, the mainstream buyer is now more aware than ever of the value of design.
The words ‘colourful bathroom’ conjures terrifying visions of seventies-style curved red spa baths and Perspex, of which surely no-one but Austin Powers would be championing a return. So, although colour in the home is great – in theory – how can it be realistically introduced into the bathroom without it looking garish?
